In the recent times, there has been many complaints regarding persons occupying high office misusing their powers, latest revelation by CNN IBN regarding judges in supreme court converting their official trips to private tours, inflation soaring still higher and the finance minister who blames it on the global oil prices and global economy, recent Jaipur blast and the usual toothless remark by the government condemning the blast, prevailing uninformed and frequent power cuts in sub urban areas of chennai and the subsequent press release from the minister stating that there is no power cut in whole of tamilnadu and more and more......
What do the people ask for?Free color television set,Free land or Free money throughout the year?
The poeple ask for good governance, essential commodities in reasonable cost
and security for life.Nothing else.
The fundamental infrastructure like roads etc have not been given due importance(In my area, the roads are laid during election time and it last only till election. Now,the roads have fell apart and i dont see any road now.Incidentally there have been more number of speedbreakers far from optimal. They were removed before a minister visited this area).
This is not all.Everyone comes up with hell of problems.
What or which or who is the root cause of this pandemonium?
I say that its "We"
Its because of "We" only this politicians occupy the high post, its because of "We" only the criminals have creeped their way in to politics.......
"We" are given a chance every five year and we commit the same blunder every time. The result is what you obviously see, hear ane live with.
Some one told "one should adjust with the happenings".He blames me that i dont have adjustmentality(as he put across)
I can only laugh at this.
Is it wrong for any citizen in the country to ask for basic ameneties at reasonable cost, infrastructure etc.Its everybody's right to claim.
Inflation have been soaring and it has reached all time high. The laymen in the country dont need explanations filled with economical jargons. All they need is basic commodities at resonable cost within their reach. That's it.
As Mr.Bharathidasan rightly says "Thiruden parthu thirunthavittal thiruttaiyollika midiyatha"
I say "makkal parthu thirunthavittal nattai kapatra mudiyathu"

T20:boon or bane?

For all these days the world cricketing world is glued to DLF IPL.Well it has been a huge success.
Cricket has wed entertainment.
All the games have close finish. Most of the matches have been batsmen's stronghold but bowlers like Mcgrath, warne, akhtar stand apart.
All the matches are marred with close finish like last ball six,30 runs scored in last over etc.
Initially DLF IPL faced the heat beacuse of cheerleaders, but the voice against it got vanished.
Is T20 doing good for cricket?
certainly T20 has brought many untapped talents to the fore, has increased the scoring rate(hereafter a score above 200 in ODI will be considered a low score),has exposed the teams and the captains to extreme adrelaine pumped up situations.
But think of its effect on Tests. The crowd which has witnessed T20 for over 3hrs will have less interest in watching test match for 5 days.Test is the ultimate format for testing the technical shrewdness of batsmen and bowlers.A person who proves himself in test is a player of all formats.
Though T20 has become a roaring success, the cricketing fraternity should not aggressively promote the concept of T20.Else within the span of some 10-15 years, test matches would lose their sheen and would be a history.
